Dave Taylor

Dave Taylor, MS is the President and Founder of the Ranch of Hope as well as one of the Primary counselors.

Dave has been counseling for over 20 years and holds a Master of Psychology with a Bachelors in Business Management. Dave  is proud to say that he received the Institute of Pastoral Counseling, 3 year certificate of Completion through Emerge Ministries, Akron, Ohio where he studied under Dr. Richard Dobbins and Don Lichi, PhD for over 8 years. Dave has continued his counseling education under John Reiger, Caring for the Heart Ministries, Colorado Springs, CO. Dave is an Ordained Minister of the Assemblies of God, serving as a U.S. Home Missionary, Chaplaincy Department, Pastoral Care in the Mental Health Division.

Dave served for 13 years in a Brain and Spinal Cord Rehabilitation Hospital as Chaplain and Volunteer and Pastoral Coordinator. Dave was the Founding Chairman of the Ethics Advisory Committee and served in this capacity for 10 years. Dave set regional records of participation as Volunteer Coordinator at two Rehabilitation Hospitals in PA., where, under his leadership, the program grew from 5 Volunteers and 600 hrs per year to sustained growth of 150 volunteers and over 12,000 volunteer hours. Dave is a sought after speaker from as diversified an audience as Churches, Prisons, Universities, High Schools, Rotary’s, Case Management, Hospitals & Marriage Retreats. Dave has served on and coordinated many Mission Trips including; Russia, Operation Serve 1992, 8 days after the fall of Communism, to state side, Commission trips, assisting thirteen New Church Plantings and Church Growth Projects in PA,  NY & CO. Dave brings to the Ranch of Hope over 25 years of ministerial experience in the community he served.

Dave is a lover of his wife and family, 3 adult children and 7 grand kids. Dave is an avid horseman, serves as Coordinator of Youth and Chapel Services for the Wet Mountain Valley Saddle Club and Rodeo, active in Custer County Search and Rescue, loves to horse back ride at dusk “cause all the critters come out then”.  Hunt, fish, climb, or will try any sport . . . twice. Dave thrives with honest, candid, open conversation. “The Joy of the Lord is my Strength”  “Expect the best, hope the best and believe for the best in others’. Dave’s contagious enthusiasm for the Lord is exhilarating and dynamically encouraging.

Dave is kind, caring and encouraging. His method of counseling is based on empowering the client to self-discovery of the concerns or issues of the clients life, identifying and caring for each area of concern and bring the client to a healthy resolve, for a more joyful and harmonious life.

Hope TaylorHope Taylor

Hope has been a Counselor since 1989. She graduated with honors from State University of New York, at Fredonia with a BA in Psychology as well as a minor in Communication. She then continued her education through a three year certificate program of Pastoral Counseling at Emerge Ministries under Richard Dobbins. She then pursued her Master’s in Counseling through Liberty University. She began There’s Hope Christian Counseling in 1990 which grew to a tri-state counseling ministry.

With offices in NY; as well as, PA., Hope was a very sought after Counselor who specialized in adult sexual abuse victims and dysfunctional families. In 2004 Hope closed down There’s Hope Christian Counseling and with her husband, David, moved to Westcliffe, CO to create The Ranch of Hope.

Hope is the mother of three adult children and the proud mother in law of each of their chosen mates, as well as the grandmother of six (and 1/2) adorable grandchildren whom are her pride and joy. Hope loves fast horseback riding on their gaited Spotted Saddle horses. Hope enjoys walking and mountain hiking. She loves relaxing in the hot tub at night with David and marveling at the magnificent starry skies that are so vivid in Colorado. Her favorite pastime is using her wet saw to cut rocks and tile to create beauty in their home and The Ranch of Hope.

Currently Hope is using the knowledge gained through 19 years of counseling experience to co-counsel with David. Hope enjoys teaching and training in one and two day seminars, nationwide. Hope also manages the marketing and grant writing for the Ranch of Hope.
 

 

Diane Swan – Office ManagerDiane Swan

Diane moved, with her husband, to Colorado in August 2008.  She counts herself so blessed to have found this position at the Ranch of Hope.  She believes fully in the mission of the Ranch of Hope and the capabilities of David and Hope.  She also, considers the Taylors good friends – not her boss’.

Diane spent 11 years as an executive assistant at a Catholic School and Church.  She brings that skill set with her.  She considers herself a people person and gregarious.

She enjoys the public contact associated with this job and relishes the challenges of not only bookkeeping, but the organization and communication skills needed to keep the Ranch of Hope running smoothly.

Diane loves God and her family but also loves crafts, photography and whitewater rafting in her spare time.
