With over 27 years of combined expertise in Families and Marriages, Dave and Hope Taylor were determined to answer the question:

What could we do to offer hurting Couples, Families and Individuals more joy and health than ever before?

Ten years of planning, combined with 3 years of intensive research and study within the Christian Counseling and Family Health fields led Dave and Hope to launch this 5 Day Intensive Counseling Concept.

We offer our Clients an individualized treatment program with 3 hours of counseling each day plus Tools for Success and Life Application. The serene recreational environment is utilized to enhance the counseling experience with country walks, indoor and outdoor counseling settings plus wildlife viewing abounds in our area. You will find that you have access to places designated as “Lovers Roost “, a hill terrain path named “Putting off the Old Self and Putting on the New” even a 1 ½ hour climb to the top of majestic “Holy Hill” if you’re up to it. All this is under the aptly named Sangre de Cristo Mountains (Spanish for “The Blood of Christ”)

Dave Taylor, President and Founder of the Ranch of Hope and one of the primary counselors specialize in a “Heart to Heart” level of counseling. Dave empowers his clients to self-discover their own concerns and issues, encourages honest, open dialogue, identifying the hurts and traumas of the past and brings the clients to a place of resolve. Dave’s clients quickly feel safe and develop a confidence as a new hope emerges in their hearts. Dependence upon the Scriptures and Jesus as our Savior and Counselor becomes very evident during the week--with lasting effects. We do not look for a “mountain top” experience but measure our success in lasting joy and restored relationships.

The Ranch is located in the beautiful high mountain valley beneath the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of southern Colorado, 1 ½ hours south of the Colorado Springs airport. Our recreational setting was specifically chosen to provide, in itself, a wonderful “get away” retreat style respite from life’s demands and stresses. The quaint village of Westcliffe, CO provides all a visitor needs. Our ministry Partners in the area provide very affordable lodging at the lowest rates available for our Clients.

Since our opening in October 2005, the Ranch of Hope has counseled over 175 client units. (a unit being either an individual, marriage or family)  Our incredible success rate (84%) is measured through a self report system using a 1-10 scale.  On average, our clients report a life satisfaction score of three (3) before arrival at the Ranch of Hope.  Upon leaving they rate life satisfaction at seven (7) and a year later rate their satisfaction with life at eight (8); which indicates that the skills learned continue to contribute to healing and quality of life.
